This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed postproceedings of the 16th Italian Workshop on Neural Nets, WIRN 2005, as well as the satellite International Workshop on Natural and Artificial Immune Systems, NAIS 2005, held in Vietri sul Mare, Italy in June 2005. The 41 revised papers presented together with a lecture by the winner of the Premio Caianiello award were carefully reviewed and improved during two rounds of selection and refereeing.

Neural Nets and Surroundings
This volume collects a selection of contributions which has been presented at the 22nd Italian Workshop on Neural Networks, the yearly meeting of the Italian Society for Neural Networks (SIREN). The conference was held in Italy, Vietri sul Mare (Salerno), during May 17-19, 2012. Air Pollution
Although the climate of the Earth is continually changing from the very beginning, anthropogenic effects, the pollution of the air by combustion and industrial activities make it change so quickly that the adaptation is very difficult for all living organisms. Researcher's role is to make this adaptation easier, to prepare humankind to the new circumstances and challenges, to trace and predict the effects and, if possible, even decrease the harmfulness of these changes. In this book we provide an interdisciplinary collection of new studies and findings on the score of air pollution.

This book and its sister volume constitute the proceedings of the 7th International Symposium on Neural Networks, ISNN 2010, held in Shanghai, China, June 6-9, 2010. The 170 revised full papers of Part I and Part II were carefully selected from 591 submissions and focus on topics such as SVM and Kernel Methods, Vision and Image, Data Mining and Text Analysis, BCI and Brain Imaging and its applications. Artificial Neural Networks
This two-volume proceedings compiles a selection of research papers presented at the ICANN-91.
