This three-volume set of books presents advances in the development of concepts and techniques in the area of new technologies and contemporary information system architectures. It guides readers through solving specific research and analytical problems to obtain useful knowledge and business value from the data. Each chapter provides an analysis of a specific technical problem, followed by the numerical analysis, simulation and implementation of the solution to the problem. The books constitute the refereed proceedings of the 2017 38th International Conference “Information Systems Architecture and Technology,” or ISAT 2017, held on September 17–19, 2017 in Szklarska Poręba, Poland. The four-volume set LNAI 6276--6279 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Knowledge-Based Intelligent Information and Engineering Systems, KES 2010, held in Cardiff, UK, in September 2010. The 272 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 360 submissions. They present the results of high-quality research on a broad range of intelligent systems topics.
The two-volume set LNAI 6922 and LNAI 6923 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Conference on Computational Collective Intelligence, ICCCI 2011, held in Gdynia, Poland, in September 2011. The 112 papers in this two volume set presented together with 3 keynote speeches were carefully reviewed and selected from 300 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on knowledge management, machine learning and applications, autonomous and collective decision-making, collective computations and optimization, Web services and semantic Web, social networks and computational swarm intelligence and applications.
th I3E 2010 marked the 10 anniversary of the IFIP Conference on e-Business, e- Services, and e-Society, continuing a tradition that was invented in 1998 during the International Conference on Trends in Electronic Commerce, TrEC 1998, in Hamburg (Germany). Three years later the inaugural I3E 2001 conference was held in Zurich (Switzerland). Since then I3E has made its journey through the world: 2002 Lisbon (Portugal), 2003 Sao Paulo (Brazil), 2004 Toulouse (France), 2005 Poznan (Poland), 2006 Turku (Finland), 2007 Wuhan (China), 2008 Tokyo (Japan), and 2009 Nancy (France). I3E 2010 took place in Buenos Aires (Argentina) November 3–5, 2010. Known as “The Pearl” of South America, Buenos A...
The 2010 Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ACIIDS) was the second event of the series of international scientific conferences for research and applications in the field of intelligent information and database systems. The aim of ACIIDS 2010 was to provide an international forum for scientific research in the technologies and applications of intelligent information, database systems and their applications. ACIIDS 2010 was co-organized by Hue University (Vietnam) and Wroclaw University of Technology (Poland) and took place in Hue city (Vietnam) during March 24–26, 2010. We received almost 330 papers from 35 countries. Each paper was peer reviewed by at least t...
The 2002 IFIP Workshop on Internet Technologies, Applications, and Societal Impact (WITASI 2002), held in Wroclaw, Poland, October 10-11, 2002, presents different research aspects of the Internet, both technical and societal. The workshop aims at getting together scientists and practitioners from different research areas to work together on Internet development and reflect on Internet consequences to the economy and society. The papers presented in these proceedings describe state-of-the-art research in such areas of Internet applications as languages, mobility, multimedia, quality of service, voice over IP, and wireless access. A total of 40 papers were submitted to WITASI 2002 out of which 18 papers were selected for presentation at the workshop and inclusion in the proceedings. The workshop also includes 4 invited papers. WIT ASI 2002 was sponsored by IFIP -the International Federation for Information Processing. It was organized by Working Group WG 6.4 on Internet Applications Engineering of the Technical Committee TC 6 on Communication Systems. Locally, WITASI 2002 was organized by the Institute of Control and Systems Engineering, Wroclaw University of Technology.
