Albemarle County in Virginia
Each entry in this volume gives the name of the bride and groom, the date of the bond, and the name of the bondsman, who was often a relative of the bride. A brides' index follows at the back of the volume. All told, this work identifies the 3,500 oldest Loudoun County marriage bonds known to exist.
Genealogical Records of Buckingham County, Virginia
Owing to the total destruction of the county courthouse in 1869, few records of Buckingham County, Virginia survive. From documents in the Virginia State Library and the University of Virginia's Alderman Library, and from materials still in private hands, the compiler of this book has amassed a genealogical record of the county--not continuous and complete, since that would be impossible, but a rich selection of the kind of materials that would have been in the old courthouse. Highlighting the work is a collection of family sketches.
Genealogy of the Lewis Family in America
Chiefly a record of some of the descendants of John Lewis. He was born in Donegal County, Ireland 1678 to Andrew Lewis and Mary Calhoun. He married Margaret Lynn. He died in Virginia 1 Feb 1762. They were the parents of seven children.
