This volume contains the papers presented at RECOMB 2010: the 14th Annual International Conference on Research in Computational Molecular Biology held in Lisbon, Portugal, during April 25–28, 2010. The RECOMB conference series was started in 1997 by Sorin Istrail, Pavel Pevzner, and Michael Waterman. RECOMB 2010 was hosted by INESC-ID and Instituto Superior Tecnico, or- nized by a committee chaired by Arlindo Oliveira and took place at the Int- national Fair of Lisbon Meeting Centre. This year, 36 papers were accepted for presentation out of 176 submissions. The papers presented were selected by the Program Committee (PC) assisted by a number of external reviewers. For over three decades now, silicon capacity has steadily been doubling every year and a half with equally staggering improvements continuously being observed in operating speeds. This increase in capacity has allowed for more complex systems to be built on a single silicon chip. Coupled with this functionality increase, speed improvements have fueled tremendous advancements in computing and have enabled new multi-media applications. Such trends, aimed at integrating higher levels of circuit functionality are tightly related to an emphasis on compactness in consumer electronic products and a widespread growth and interest in wireless communications and products. These trends are expected to ...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th European Conference on Genetic Programming, EuroGP 2011, held in Torino, Italy, in April 2011 co-located with the Evo* 2011 events. This 20 revised full papers presented together with 9 poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 59 submissions. The wide range of topics in this volume reflect the current state of research in the field, including representations, theory, novel operators and techniques, self organization, and applications.
This volume is a comprehensive directory and guide to the organizations and institutions throughout the sphere of higher education and learning. It profiles some 30,000 academic institutions and over 200,000 staff and officials.
