This volume (no. 31 of the Publications of the Harleian Society) and the previous volume (no. 30 of the Publications of the Harleian Society) contain marriage licences issued by the Vicar-General of the Archbishop of Canterbury between 1679 and 1694. Vol. 23 of the Publications of the Harleian Society includes a selection of marriage licences issued by the Vicar-General between 1660 and 1679. The editor of v. 23 omitted "persons evidently of the very humblest rank". Volumes 33 and 34 contain the marriage licences from 1660 to 1679 which were omitted.
