The book includes extended versions of selected papers discussed and presented at the 5th International Doctoral Symposium on Applied Computation and Security Systems (ACSS 2018) held in Kolkata, India on February 9–11, 2018. The symposium was organized by the University of Calcutta’s Department of Computer Science & Engineering and A. K. Choudhury School of Information Technology, and the International partners were Ca Foscari University of Venice, Italy and Bialystok University of Technology, Poland. Progress in VLSI Design and Test
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Symposium on VSLI Design and Test, VDAT 2012, held in Shibpur, India, in July 2012. The 30 revised regular papers presented together with 10 short papers and 13 poster sessions were carefully selected from 135 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on VLSI design, design and modeling of digital circuits and systems, testing and verification, design for testability, testing memories and regular logic arrays, embedded systems: hardware/software co-design and verification, emerging technology: nanoscale computing and nanotechnology.

The conference on ‘Interdisciplinary Research in Technology and Management” was a bold experiment in deviating from the traditional approach of conferences which focus on a specific topic or theme. By attempting to bring diverse inter-related topics on a common platform, the conference has sought to answer a long felt need and give a fillip to interdisciplinary research not only within the technology domain but across domains in the management field as well. The spectrum of topics covered in the research papers is too wide to be singled out for specific mention but it is noteworthy that these papers addressed many important and relevant concerns of the day.
