Artist Byron Dawson drew and painted a wealth of evocative images of Newcastle upon Tyne between 1925 and 1939, many of which were published in the local newspapers of the time. Art historian and author Marshall Hall rediscovers Dawson's work and brings a vanished Tyneside back to life.
Beyond Religion is a thought provoking and critical look at religion and spirituality as concepts inherently embedded in the fabric of our society. Among others, one of the key impetuses of Beyond Religion is the author's view that faith, spirituality and even perspectives of God is due for a bit of reform. Religion and certain traditions must be updated to align contemporary social systems. The author leverages his deep fascination with the concepts of religion and spirituality, and more importantly how these concepts play out in our everyday life and our interaction with others to discuss relevant issues. Additionally, Beyond Religion explores influences of religion and spirituality within our culture, relationships, mental health, economy, and other social dynamics. The author masterfully and artfully uses the concept of Beyond Religion as the basis to engage key historical and cultural dynamics to discuss how the relationship, or lack thereof, between religion and spirituality influence our perspectives.
"It's been said that most people would rather die than to be known; but in Metamorphosis Complete, Angelina bravely and courageously cuts to the chase. She candidly expresses the experiences of her testimony, while simultaneously revealing spiritual truth and inspiration. She has provided an example and a seemingly rare look inside the REAL growth processes that even Christians endure to arrive at the place of spiritual maturity and purpose. Through graphic detail and transparency, Metamorphosis Complete is engaging and relatable, while remaining encouraging and uplifting. This book is a remarkable expression of the tests in one woman's testimony " Byron J. Dawson, Senior Pastor Abundant Life Harvest Center Ministries St. Marys, GA

Brings the lives of Army soldiers, who had been slaves a few years earlier, into sharp focus.
The inclusion of the Ninth Cavalry and three other African American regiments in the post-Civil War army was one of the nation's most problematic social experiments. The first fifteen years following its organization in 1866 were stained by mutinies, slanderous verbal assaults, and sadistic abuses by their officers. Eventually, however, a number of considerate and dedicated officers, including Major Guy Henry, Captain Charles Parker, and Lieutenant Matthais Day, in cooperation with capable noncommissioned officers such as George Mason, Madison Ingoman, and Moses Williams, created an elite and well-disciplined fighting unit that won the respect of all but the most racist whites.
The Medal of Honor, one of the world's most highly revered military decorations, has been awarded to 3,457 men and one woman since its inception on December 21, 1861. This honor is bestowed upon those individuals who demonstrate courage in a life-threatening situation, who put their own lives at risk for the sake of others, and who display valor above and beyond the call of duty. This text details the stories of the 88 African Americans who have been awarded the Medal of Honor. Each entry chronicles the acts of bravery and courage that led to the serviceman's receiving this honor. Beginning with a brief history of the Medal of Honor, the book is then divided into eight sections covering every major conflict from the Civil War through the Vietnam War. An appendix of the number of medals awarded by wars and campaigns, a bibliography, and an index are included.
This text focuses on core and lower level expectations in the QCA Scheme of Work, so both the Scheme of Work and Framework are accessible to lower achievers.
