Andreas Ringwald was born 3 July 1782 in Wagenstadt, Baden. His parents were Johann Friedrich Ringwald and Juliana Reinbold. He married Maria Barbara Hess in 1802. They had six children. He died in 1842 in Chillicothe, Ohio.
