This book constitutes the proceedings of the PhD Symposium, Demos and Workshops* from the 25th International Conference on Web Information Systems Engineering, WISE 2024, held in Doha, Qatar during December 2-5, 2024. The 18 full papers, 9 short papers, 9 demos and posters presented here were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 75 submissions. These papers cover various areas of web security and privacy, web data management, web architectures and technologies, social networks, and queries. * This volume includes the proceedings from the WEB-for-GOOD 2024 workshop, AIWDA 2024 workshop and SWIFT-AG 2024 workshop.
The inspiration for this book came from the Industrial Session of the ISMIS 2017 Conference in Warsaw. It covers numerous applications of intelligent technologies in various branches of the industry. Intelligent computational methods and big data foster innovation and enable the industry to overcome technological limitations and explore the new frontiers. Therefore it is necessary for scientists and practitioners to cooperate and inspire each other, and use the latest research findings to create new designs and products. As such, the contributions cover solutions to the problems experienced by practitioners in the areas of artificial intelligence, complex systems, data mining, medical applications and bioinformatics, as well as multimedia- and text processing. Further, the book shows new directions for cooperation between science and industry and facilitates efficient transfer of knowledge in the area of intelligent information systems.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the European Conference on Logics in Artificial Intelligence, JELIA 2002, held in Cosenza, Italy in September 2002.The 41 revised full papers presented together with 11 system descriptions and 3 invited contributions were carefuly reviewed and selected from more than 100 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on multi-agent systems, evolution and changes, description logic and the semantic web, complexity issues, probabilistic logic, AI planning, modal logic and causal reasoning, theory, reasoning under uncertainty, satisfiability, paraconsisten reasoning, actions and caution, logic for agents, semantics, and optimization issues in answer set semantics.
The three-volume set LNCS 14476-14478 constitutes the post conference proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Numerical Computations: Theory and Algorithms, NUMTA 2023, held in Pizzo Calabro, Italy, during June 14-20, 2023. The 45 full papers presented in this book together with 60 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 170 submissions. The papers focus on topics such as: continuous and discrete single- and multi-objective problems, local, global and large-scale optimization, classification in machine learning, optimal control, and applications; computational and applied mathematics (such as approximation theory, computational geometry, computational fluid dynamics, dynamical systems and differential equations, numerical algebra, etc.) and applications in engineering and science; numerical models, methods and software using traditional and emerging high-performance computational tools and paradigms (including the infinity and quantum computing) and their application in artificial intelligence and data science, bioinformatics, economics and management, engineering and technology, mathematical education, number theory and foundations of mathematics, etc.
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th International Symposium on Foundations of Intelligent Systems, ISMIS 2020, held in Graz, Austria, in October 2020. The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 35 full and 8 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 79 submissions. Included is also one invited talk. The papers deal with topics such as natural language processing; deep learning and embeddings; digital signal processing; modelling and reasoning; and machine learning applications.
Software Intensive Systems are systems, which heavily interact with other systems, sensors, actuators, devices, other software systems and users. More and more domains are involved with software intensive systems, e.g. automotive, telecommunication systems, embedded systems in general, industrial automation systems and business applications. Moreover, the outcome of web services delivers a new platform for enabling software intensive systems. Complex Systems research is focused on the overall understanding of systems rather than its components. Complex Systems are very much characterized by the changing environments in which they act by their multiple internal and external interactions. They...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Information Technology in Bio- and Medical Informatics, ITBAM 2016, held in Porto, Portugal, in September 2016, in conjunction with DEXA 2016. The 9 revised long papers presented together with 11 poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 26 submissions. The papers address the following topics: biomedical data analysis and warehousing; information technologies in brain science; and social networks and process analysis in biomedicine.
The book generously covers a wide range of aspects and issues related to RFID systems, namely the design of RFID antennas, RFID readers and the variety of tags (e.g. UHF tags for sensing applications, surface acoustic wave RFID tags, smart RFID tags), complex RFID systems, security and privacy issues in RFID applications, as well as the selection of encryption algorithms. The book offers new insights, solutions and ideas for the design of efficient RFID architectures and applications. While not pretending to be comprehensive, its wide coverage may be appropriate not only for RFID novices but also for experienced technical professionals and RFID aficionados.
The two-volume set LNCS 14910 and 14911 constitutes the proceedings of the 35th International Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications, DEXA 2024, which took place in Naples, Italy, in August 2024. The 27 full and 20 short papers included in the proceedings set were carefully reviewed and selected from 102 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: Financial and economic data analysis; graph theory and network analysis; database management and query optimization; machine learning and large language models; recommender systems and personalization; Part II: Blockchain and supply management; data mining and knowledge discovery; spatiotemporal data and mobility analysis; computer vision and image processing; data security and privacy; database indexing and query processing; specialized applications and case studies.
