Este volume contém uma parcela dos trabalhos apresentados durante a XXVIII Reunião de Trabalho sobre a Física Nuclear no Brasil, realizada de 7 a 11 setembro de 2005 na cidade do Guarujá-SP. Esta reunião contou com a participação de, aproximadamente, 150 pesquisadores da área de física nuclear entre professores e alunos. As contribuições selecionadas para esta publicação compreendem as diversas sub-áreas da física nuclear representadas na reunião: teórica, experimental e aplicada. Este volume tem o importante objetivo de divulgar os trabalhos de física nuclear que vem sendo realizados aqui no Brasil e servir como um registro dessas atividades a fim de possibilitar uma constante avaliação e reflexão sobre a evolução desta distinta área brasileira do conhecimento.
