Newport
Located in the northern tip of Kentucky and fortuitously bordered by rivers on two sides, Newport has flourished for over 200 years. Col. James Taylor of Caroline County, Virginia, received a military grant for 1,500 acres, and his son Hubbard selected and surveyed a tract of wilderness along the Ohio River. This area was chosen and named Newport in honor of Christopher Newport, a British privateer who commanded several early expeditions to Virginia, including the voyage transporting the first permanent colonists to Jamestown. With the establishment of a diverse mixture of businesses and the arrival of German and Italian immigrants, Newport has grown over the years and developed into a thriving community.

Bellevue
A river town located on the banks of the Ohio, the city of Bellevue is nestled in Northern Kentucky among several small cities, including Newport, Dayton, and Fort Thomas. Bellevue became an independent city when its founders' petition to the Kentucky legislature for a charter was granted on March 15, 1870. At that time, there were only 380 people residing in Bellevue. In the years that followed, major religious and educational institutions were established, including Calgary Methodist Church in 1870, Sacred Heart Church in 1873, and the Bellevue Independent School District in 1871. Business and industry began to flourish in the early 1880s, especially along Fairfield Avenue, where at least 13 businesses had been established by 1882. Along with the growth of businesses and institutions, the Ohio River grew to become a very important part of Bellevue's history. Offering countless opportunities for recreation, the Queen City Beach was considered the most popular freshwater beach in the region.
Simultaneity: Temporal Structures And Observer Perspectives
This book presents an interdisciplinary approach to the question of how observer-participant perspectives are generated, what constrains them and how they may be modified. These questions are of vital importance and must be addressed in any discipline before formulating a hypothesis or designing a model about reality. Both epistemological questions about the nature of temporal nested structures and practical applications of our ability to contextualize are discussed. The resulting temporal observer-participant perspectives reflect approaches to the concept of simultaneity from the viewpoints of philosophers, logicians, cyberneticists and systems theorists, mathematicians, psychologists, medical practitioners, physicists, educationists, economists and musicologists.
