The four companion volumes of Nature and Scripture in the Abrahamic Religions contribute to a contextual evaluation of the mutual influences between scriptural exegesis and hermeneutics on the one hand and practices or techniques of interpretation in natural philosophy and the natural sciences on the other. We seek to raise the low profile this theme has had both in the history of science and in the history of biblical interpretation. Furthermore, questions about the interpretation of scripture continue to be provoked by current theological reflection on scientific theories. We also seek to provide a historical context for renewed reflection on the role of the hermeneutics of scripture in the development of theological doctrines that interact with the natural sciences. I was inspired to write this little book about characters in the Bible. The focus is mainly on lesser-known characters or lesser-known facts about popular characters. One might ask, How do I use this book? Well, dear reader, Im glad you asked. You can use this book to learn more about the Bible, and hopefully, it piques your interest enough to want to open that dusty Bible or buy one if you dont own one. Chances are, theres a Bible the same place you bought this book. I say this lightly, but this book is meant as a guide to draw you closer to the Word of God. You can use it whether youre a Bible novice, and hopefully, it may even be helpful if youre a great Bible scholar. One can even fashion a weekly Bible study around it or perhaps a weekly sermon. Something I enjoy doing is picking a character and trying to emulate something I learn from him or her for an entire week. I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it, and I pray it leads to have a closer personal relationship to Gods son, Jesus, or it helps to introduce you to Him if you do not know Him already! God Bless you!
