This book explores Hui (one of the Muslim minority groups in China) students’ lived experiences in an elementary school in central P. R. China from the perspectives of philosophical foundations of education and the sociology of education, the impact of their experiences on their identity construction, and what schooling means to Hui students. The book describes a vivid picture of how the Hui construct their own identities in the public school setting, and how the state curricula, teachers, and parents play roles in student identity construction. The objectives of the book are to discover factors that impact Hui students’ identity construction and have caused Hui students to know little a...

This book covers the fundamentals of wire arc additive manufacturing processes including principles and processing procedures for developing near-net-shape components and their applications. It further addresses wire arc additive manufacturing of titanium, aluminium, nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, copper, bronze, and iron-based alloys backed by case studies and illustrations. It explains the metallurgical and mechanical features of the wire arc additively manufactured components. Overviews directed energy deposition processes and fundamentals of wire arc additive manufacturing process Deals with the most successful additive manufacturing process to create large-scale components Provides the comparison of productivity between wire arc additive manufacturing and other additive manufacturing processes for various materials Discusses solidification process, thermal gradient, and microstructural features Includes real-time case studies and numerous illustrations This book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in manufacturing and materials science engineering, welding, and additive manufacturing.
"Metallurgical Process Engineering" discusses large-scale integrated theory on the level of manufacturing production processes, putting forward concepts for exploring non-equilibrium and irreversible complex system. It emphasizes the dynamic and orderly operation of the steel plant manufacturing process, the major elements of which are the flow, process network and program. The book aims at establishing a quasi-continuous and continuous process system for improving several techno-economic indices, minimizing dissipation and enhancing the market competitiveness and sustainability of steel plants. The book is intended for engineers, researchers and managers in the fields of metallurgical engineering, industrial design, and process engineering. Prof. Ruiyu Yin is honorary president of the Central Iron and Steel Research Institute, China, and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Increased industrial capacity, manufacturing output, and manufacturing technology all contribute significantly to a country's GDP. Manufacturing is the foundation of industrial production, so improving its methods and infrastructure is crucial for progress. Recent years have seen the introduction of a wide range of energy- and resource-efficient, environmentally friendly, and occupationally safe manufacturing techniques, and this book focuses on these latest techniques, as well as continuous advancement, in order to meet current challenges. The book is divided into three sections: (1) subtractive manufacturing, (2) additive manufacturing, and (3) the use of artificial intelligence in manufac...
With the publications of the International subarachnoid aneurysm trial (ISAT), endovascular treatment has become one of the most important treatments of intracranial aneurysms, and was used more and more in clinic settings. However, intracranial complex aneurysms (such as giant aneurysms, wide-necked aneurysms, fusiform aneurysms and dissecting aneurysms) still impose a huge challenge for clinicians. Flow diverter (FD) is a novel device for the treatment of aneurysms based on the understanding of hemodynamic mechanism of aneurysm occlusion. It could divert the blood flow from the aneurysm neck, and promote aneurysm occlusion without inserting coils into the aneurysms. In addition, the FDs had the advantage of simplifying the procedure and relieving the mass effect.
