This volume contains the proceedings of the conference Representation Theory XVI, held from June 25–29, 2019, in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The articles in the volume address selected aspects of representation theory of reductive Lie groups and vertex algebras, and are written by prominent experts in the field as well as junior researchers. The three main topics of these articles are Lie theory, number theory, and vertex algebras.

This book contains lecture notes from most of the courses presented at the 50th anniversary edition of the Seminaire de Mathematiques Superieure in Montreal. This 2011 summer school was devoted to the analysis and geometry of metric measure spaces, and featured much interplay between this subject and the emergent topic of optimal transportation. In recent decades, metric measure spaces have emerged as a fruitful source of mathematical questions in their own right, and as indispensable tools for addressing classical problems in geometry, topology, dynamical systems, and partial differential equations. The summer school was designed to lead young scientists to the research frontier concerning the analysis and geometry of metric measure spaces, by exposing them to a series of minicourses featuring leading researchers who highlighted both the state-of-the-art and some of the exciting challenges which remain. This volume attempts to capture the excitement of the summer school itself, presenting the reader with glimpses into this active area of research and its connections with other branches of contemporary mathematics.
This book presents contributions of international and local experts from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS-Cameroon) and also from other local universities in the domain of orthogonal polynomials and applications. The topics addressed range from univariate to multivariate orthogonal polynomials, from multiple orthogonal polynomials and random matrices to orthogonal polynomials and Painlevé equations. The contributions are based on lectures given at the AIMS-Volkswagen Stiftung Workshop on Introduction of Orthogonal Polynomials and Applications held on October 5–12, 2018 in Douala, Cameroon. This workshop, funded within the framework of the Volkswagen Foundation Initiative "Symposia and Summer Schools", was aimed globally at promoting capacity building in terms of research and training in orthogonal polynomials and applications, discussions and development of new ideas as well as development and enhancement of networking including south-south cooperation.

Gordon Semenoff has left a legacy of influence in the theoretical physics community in Canada and globally. His contributions to the field are far-reaching and significant. He is held in the highest esteem by world-renowned. Authors are celebrating his 70th birthday with this conference. All of the speakers who will be contributing to the volume will have been his collaborators or his close colleagues.
The aim of this well-known annual colloquium on group theoretical and geometrical methods in physics is to give an overview of current research. Original contributions along with some review articles cover relevant mathematical developments as well as applications to physical phenomena. The volume contains contributions dealing with concepts from classical group theory, supergroups, superalgebras, infinite dimensional groups, Kac-Moody algebras and related structures. Applications to physics include quantization methods, nuclear physics, crystallography, gauge theory and strings in particle physics. Most of the articles have an introductory or a review section, so the volume will be useful not only for researchers but also for graduate students.
