Our Own Agendas is the second collection of essays by McGill women. The first, A Fair Shake, was published a decade ago. The second volume both reflects the current climate of openness and shows that many barriers remain to be challenged. Our Own Agendas makes a lively and enlightening contribution to our understanding of women's experiences and to Canadian social history.
International Review of Biblical Studies / Internationale Zeitschriftenschau Fur Bibelwissenschaft Und Grenzgebiete
Formerly known by its subtitle "Internationale Zeitschriftenschau für Bibelwissenschaft und Grenzgebiete", the International Review of Biblical Studies has served the scholarly community ever since its inception in the early 1950's. Each annual volume includes approximately 2,000 abstracts and summaries of articles and books that deal with the Bible and related literature, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, Pseudepigrapha, Non-canonical gospels, and ancient Near Eastern writings. The abstracts - which may be in English, German, or French - are arranged thematically under headings such as e.g. "Genesis", "Matthew", "Greek language", "text and textual criticism", "exegetical methods and approaches", "biblical theology", "social and religious institutions", "biblical personalities", "history of Israel and early Judaism", and so on. The articles and books that are abstracted and reviewed are collected annually by an international team of collaborators from over 300 of the most important periodicals and book series in the fields covered.

Evil and Death
Jewish anthropological beliefs during the Hellenistic-Roman period are an important but previously neglected area of biblical exegesis and Jewish studies. In an effort to address this deficiency, this volume brings together 20 essays related to the subject of sin and death, with special emphasis on integrating material from neighboring cultures. Thus, the volume provides an exemplary foundation for further research on ancient Jewish anthropology.

The Old Testament and Folklore Study
Since Gunkel, folklore studies have exercised a great influence upon theories of oral composition and transmission of the patriarchal narratives.
