This report comprises two studies in a project on young children and mathematics. The studies were carried out within the pnenomenographic research framework and have an explorative character. With the point of departure in the children's own perspective, the overall aim of the book is to examine how six year old children experience and learn mathematics and in which ways the teacher can create learning situations and bring mathematics into the children's daily work by involving them in problem solving activities.
