This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, PReMI 2021, held in December 2021. Due to COVID-19 pandemic the conference was held virtually. The 62 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 215 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: image processing; text, voice and video processing; bioinformatics; deep learning; medical image processing; theory and models; feature selection; biometrics and dermoscopy; facial image analysis; object and event detection; pattern recognition; machine learning applications.
The goal of a high quality, cost-effective and accessible health care for patients is achieved through constructing a team-based and patient-centered health care delivery system. The expanded role of pharmacists uplifts them to patient care from dispensing and manufacturing or marketing of drugs. Along with doctors and allied health professionals, pharmacists are increasingly recognized as an integral part of the patient care team. Furthermore, colleges of pharmacy need to revise and up-date their curricula to accommodate the progressively increasing development in the pharmaceutical education and the evolving new roles of practicing pharmacists in patient care settings. This book focuses on...
Medical imaging technologies play a significant role in visualization and interpretation methods in medical diagnosis and practice using decision making, pattern classification, diagnosis, and learning. Progressions in the field of medical imaging lead to interdisciplinary discovery in microscopic image processing and computer-assisted diagnosis systems, and aids physicians in the diagnosis and early detection of diseases. Histopathological Image Analysis in Medical Decision Making provides emerging research exploring the theoretical and practical applications of image technologies and feature extraction procedures within the medical field. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics such as image classification, digital image analysis, and prediction methods, this book is ideally designed for medical professionals, system engineers, medical students, researchers, and medical practitioners seeking current research on problem-oriented processing techniques in imaging technologies.
The five volume set LNCS 10960 until 10964 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications, ICCSA 2018, held in Melbourne, Australia, in July 2018. Apart from the general tracks, ICCSA 2018 also includes 34 international workshops in various areas of computational sciences, ranging from computational science technologies, to specific areas of computational sciences, such as computer graphics and virtual reality.
Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for Competitive Strategies targets state-of-the-art as well as emerging topics pertaining to information and communication technologies (ICTs) and effective strategies for its implementation for engineering and intelligent applications.
This book presents the combined proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Computer Science and its Applications (CSA 2018) and the 13th KIPS International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Technologies and Applications (CUTE 2018), both held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Dec 17 - 19, 2018. The aim of these two meetings was to promote discussion and interaction among academics, researchers and professionals in the field of ubiquitous computing technologies. These proceedings reflect the state of the art in the development of computational methods, involving theory, algorithms, numerical simulation, error and uncertainty analysis and novel applications of new processing techniques in engineering, science, and other disciplines related to ubiquitous computing.
In the early days of television, many of its actors, writers, producers and directors came from radio. This crossover endowed the American Radio Archives with a treasure trove of television documents. The collected scripts span more than 40 years of American television history, from live broadcasts of the 1940s to the late 1980s. They also cover the entire spectrum of television entertainment programming, including comedies, soap operas, dramas, westerns, and crime series. The archives cover nearly 1,200 programs represented by more than 6,000 individual scripts. Includes an index of personal names, program and episode titles and production companies, as well as a glossary of industry terms.
