Preparation and Characterization of Palm Oil Based Polyurethane Foam with Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes and Magnesium Fillers
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect on PU foam of various types of fillers (MWCNTS and Mg) with varying filler contents. PU foam composites with a POP/isocyanate (MDI) ratio of 1:1.1 were synthesised using a variety of fillers, including MWCNTs, Mg, and MWCNTs/Mg powders (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 percent). The PU foam composites were cured for 24 hours (hrs) at room temperature and then cured for an additional 2 hrs at 80 °C to ensure complete reaction, before being cut to the desired dimensions for the testing procedures.
