For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them. Aristotle Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty. Albert Einstein The second most important job in the world, second only to being a good parent, is being a good teacher. S.G. Ellis The fast technological changes and the resulting shifts of market conditions require the development and use of educational methodologies and opportunities with moderate economic demands. Currently, there is an increasing number of edu- tional institutes that respond to this challenge through the creation and adoption of distance education programs in which the teachers and s...
This book is a revision and extension of my 1995 Sourcebook of Control Systems Engineering. Because of the extensions and other modifications, it has been retitled Handbook of Control Systems Engineering, which it is intended to be for its prime audience: advanced undergraduate students, beginning graduate students, and practising engineers needing an understandable review of the field or recent developments which may prove useful. There are several differences between this edition and the first. • Two new chapters on aspects of nonlinear systems have been incorporated. In the first of these, selected material for nonlinear systems is concentrated on four aspects: showing the value of cert...
Advances and Innovations in Systems, Computing Sciences and Software Engineering includes a set of rigorously reviewed world-class manuscripts addressing and detailing state-of-the-art research projects in the areas of Computing Sciences, Software Engineering and Systems. Advances and Innovations in Systems, Computing Sciences and Software Engineering includes selected papers form the conference proceedings of the International Conference on Systems, Computing Sciences and Software Engineering (SCSS 2006) which was part of the International Joint Conferences on Computer, Information and Systems Sciences and Engineering (CISSE 2006). All aspects of the conference were managed on-line; not onl...
This proposal constitutes an algorithm of design applying the design for six sigma thinking, tools, and philosophy to software design. The algorithm will also include conceptual design frameworks, mathematical derivation for Six Sigma capability upfront to enable design teams to disregard concepts that are not capable upfront, learning the software development cycle and saving development costs. The uniqueness of this book lies in bringing all those methodologies under the umbrella of design and provide detailed description about how these methods, QFD, DOE, the robust method, FMEA, Design for X, Axiomatic Design, TRIZ can be utilized to help quality improvement in software development, what kinds of different roles those methods play in various stages of design and how to combine those methods to form a comprehensive strategy, a design algorithm, to tackle any quality issues in the design stage.
This book presents selected papers from International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Networks (ICAIN 2024), held on 24 – 25 September 2024, in Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT), GGSIPU, Delhi, India. The topics covered in the book are deep learning, machine learning, natural language processing, data science and analytics, cybersecurity and privacy, cloud computing, and wireless and mobile networks.
"This book assists its readers in recommending formulation of ICT strategies for e-government implementation and maintenance from the perspective of acknowledging the importance of e-Governance for building institutions to achieve transparency and accountability, and eventually democratic governance"--Provided by publisher.

The underlying mathematical representation of complex robotic and manufacturing computer-controlled systems is still insufficient to create a set of models which accurately captures the dynamics of the system over the entire range of system operation. We remain in a situation where we must trade of the accuracy of our models with the manageability of the models. Closed-form solutions of mathematical models are almost exclusively limited to linear system models. Computer simulation of non-linear hybrid and discrete-event models provide a means for online design of robotic control systems. Guarantees of system performance are limited to those regions where the robustness conditions apply. Thes...
