This is an open access book. The 7th International Conference on Learning Innovation and Quality Education (ICLIQE 2023) is organized by Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The purpose of the ICLIQE 2023 activity is as a forum to accommodate researchers, academics, educators and education staff, consultants, government and other stakeholders to share perspectives related to educational trends seen from the perspective of society 5.0 era which includes the fields of science and technology education, social and humanities, management education, basic education, special education, early childhood education, guidance and counseling, curriculum, and educational evaluation and innovation.
This book explores a humanistic approach to English for academic purposes pedagogy through the creation of a theory for the designing and planning of pedagogical activities. The theory proposes that by applying the concepts of people, place and compassion in planning and designing stages, learners will have the opportunity to take control of their learning and develop their skillset – this is power. This publication considers the reasons why English for academic purposes needs a humanistic approach to pedagogy with a focus on the contexts in which English for academic purposes takes place and profiling the student. The theory is presented is outlined and supported with a compendium of activities that could be used and adapted by practitioners in their teaching. This book will be of interest to applied linguists, language educators, EAP professionals, learning developers, researchers and anyone involved in the practice of teaching and learning in higher education.
We proudly present the proceedings of 6th International Conference on Social and Political Enquiries 2021 (ICISPE 2021) with the main theme The Politics of Pandemics: Governing Social and Communal Resilience in Times of Crises. It focuses on the relation of policy and global network, regional integration, pandemics regulation, human security, and local government. These issues are important today, not only globally, but also Indonesia nationally to the local level. There are several important issues relating to this, both institutionally and the relationships between individuals and groups in supporting the agenda in managing the pandemics. More than 130 manuscripts were presented at this conference; around 60 of which are selected to be published in proceedings. We hope by this conference, discussions on the importance of sustainable development will increasingly become an important concern together and bring better response from the government and social relations for development.
This is an open access book. The 5th Sriwijaya University Learning and Education International Conference (5th SULE-IC 2022) was held on October 5, 2022 in Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia. Palembang is a historic city located on the island of Sumatera. It was the capital of the Empire of Sriwijaya. During the glory of the Empire, it was one of the major learning centers in Asia. To continue the legacy of the Empire’s spirit of learning, the conference will, once more, be the gathering for academicians and professionals from education and related fields all over the world, to share ideas and innovations.
