Murder at the Male Revue

The Skinny-Dipping Grandmas enjoy a male stripper show...until it gets too hot to handle and nearly goes up in flames When Mary Ruth's company is hired to cater a fundraiser featuring the Royal Buckingham Male Dance Revue, the ladies see the chance to cross another item off their bucket list: helping divorcée Joy McQueen get over her decades-old fear of men in the buff. But when fundraiser sponsor Camille Ledfelter is stabbed to death, the women must uncover the naked truth about who wanted her dead. Proving who did it, however, will require dodging a persistent stripper-for-hire, surviving the American Legion Bingo, drinking high-end cognac, searching for a certain 3-D printer, and laying ...

Serendipity Science

This volume brings together for the first time the diverse threads within the growing field of serendipity research, to reflect both on the origins of this emerging field within different disciplines as well as its increasing influence as its own field with foundational texts and emerging practices. The phenomenon of serendipity has been described in many ways since Horace Walpole initially coined the term in 1754 to categorize those discoveries that happen by “both accidents and sagacity”. This book offers a sampling of perspectives from experts in serendipity research from organizational studies, management theory, information science and library studies, psychology, literature, comput...

In recent decades, works of the gentry have revolutionized out understanding of late medieval and early modern England. In Vassals, Heiresses, Crusaders, and Thugs, Hugh M. Thomas takes the study of the gentry back to the period 1154-1216. His conclusions not only reveal remarkable similarities between the gentry of various periods but also shed light on the massive changes that transformed England in the Angevin Period.

Graph Data-Models and Semantic Web Technologies in Scholarly Digital Editing

In scholarly digital editing, the established practice for semantically enriching digital texts is to add markup to a linear string of characters. Graph data-models provide an alternative approach, which is increasingly being given serious consideration. Labelled-property-graph databases, and the W3c's semantic web recommendation and associated standards (RDF and OWL) are powerful and flexible solutions to many of the problems that come with embedded markup. This volume explores the combination of scholarly digital editions, the graph data-model, and the semantic web from three perspectives: infrastructures and technologies, formal models, and projects and editions.
