The Logic Programming Paradigm
Logic Programming was founded 25 years ago. This exciting new text reveals both the evolution of this programming paradigm since its inception and the impressively broad scope of current research in Logic Programming. The contributions to the book deal with both theoretical and practical issues. They address such diverse topics as: computational molecular biology, machine learning, mobile computing, multi-agent systems, planning, numerical computing and dynamical systems, database systems, an alternative to the "formulas as types" approach, program semantics and analysis, and natural language processing. Progress in Artificial Intelligence
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, EPIA 2003, held in Beja, Portugal in December 2003. The 29 revised full papers and 20 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 119 submissions. In accordance with the five constituting workshops, the papers are organized in topical sections on artificial life and evolutionary algorithms, constraint and logic programming systems, extraction of knowledge from databases, multi-agent systems and AI for the Internet, and natural language processing and text retrieval.
