This little-known story of biblical times is “one of those contingent moments in world history on which whole civilizations pivot” (The Globe and Mail, Toronto). At the turn of the eighth century BC, a mighty Assyrian army entered Judah and fought its way to the very gates of Jerusalem, poised, the prophet Isaiah warned, to “smash the city as easily as someone hurling a clay pot against the wall.” But the assault never came. Instead, the Assyrian army turned and fled, an event that has been called the Deliverance of Jerusalem. Whereas biblical accounts attribute the Assyrian retreat to divine intervention, this account offers an explanation that is miraculous in its own light: The si...

The Judean monarch Hezekiah remains one of the most significant figures in biblical studies. For all of his greatness, however, there is little about him that may be stated with certainty. This study provides a detailed reexamination of this enterprising ruler. It commences with data outside the biblical text from Assyrian records and ancient Near Eastern archaeology which may be brought to bear in reconstructing the historical Hezekiah, and subsequently proceeds to augment this picture based on his portrayal in the books of Kings, First Isaiah, and Chronicles. Its focus is on those issues that either remain contentious in biblical scholarship, or else have been resolved into a general consensus that needs to be called into question.

Rethinking Jonah

Was the Hebrew Prophet Jonah a real or fictional person? If real, when did he live? Who were his contemporaries? Where did he grow up? How long did he live? What was he like? Is the biblical book truth or fiction? Can we know more about him than the 48-verse account in the biblical Book of Jonah, one verse in 2 Kings, and three short New Testament references? To what extent are contemporary assessments of him as being "the runaway prophet" accurate? And what really happened at Nineveh and in the aftermath? RETHINKING JONAH is subdivided into four volumes that build on each other, as follows: Volume 1: Convergence - This first volume launches into the inference-based historical reconstruction...

2030 - The Sixth Thousandth Year

From the opening chapter, we read: "It is time to rewrite ancient history! The chronology of ancient history as presented by modern secular scholarship is totally and emphatically bogus! The entire subject of b iblical chronology, as well as all ancient world chronology, is herein challenged as never before." Now, for the first time, Mr. Finch corrects the errors of past chronological studies. With this important research, it is now possible to finally create a chronology of the ancient world that, at long last, fits all the pieces perfectly together. This timely study puts b iblical chronology together in a new light and is conclusively a breakthrough investigation that cannot be ignored. This exciting research is a must-read for all b iblical students henceforward.
