Research and Evidence in Software Engineering: From Empirical Studies to Open Source Artifacts introduces advanced software engineering to software engineers, scientists, postdoctoral researchers, academicians, software consultants, management executives, doctoral students, and advanced level postgraduate computer science students. This book contains research articles addressing numerous software engineering research challenges associated with various software development-related activities, including programming, testing, measurements, human factors (social software engineering), specification, quality, program analysis, software project management, and more. It provides relevant theoretica...
In 2013, the International Conference on Advance Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE) turns 25. Initially launched in 1989, for all these years the conference has provided a broad forum for researchers working in the area of Information Systems Engineering. To reflect on the work done so far and to examine prospects for future work, the CAiSE Steering Committee decided to present a selection of seminal papers published for the conference during these years and to ask their authors, all prominent researchers in the field, to comment on their work and how it has developed over the years. The scope of the papers selected covers a broad range of topics related to modeling and designing inform...
The two-volume set LNCS 16320 and16321 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2025, held in Shenzhen, China, during December 1–4, 2025. The 42 full papers and 21 short papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 219 submissions. The papers are organized in the following topical sections: Part I: Service Foundations; Service Recommendation and Selection; Microservice Architectures; Serverless Computing; and Services at the Edge. Part II: Software as a Services and Cloud Infrastructure; Privacy, Security and Trust; Services and Business Processes; Quantum Service Computing; and Industrial Papers.
This two-volume set volume constitutes the papers of ten workshops which were held in conjunction with the 22nd International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2024. The conference took place in Tunis, Tunisia, during December 3–6, 2024. The 58 full papers and 3 short papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 109 submissions. ICSOC 2024 presents the following ten workshops: – 9th International Workshop on Adaptive Service-oriented and Cloud Applications (ASOCA) – 5th International Workshop on AI-enabled Process Automation (AI-PA) – 20th International Workshop on Engineering Service-Oriented Applications and Cloud Services (WESOACS) – 1st ...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2012, held in Berlin, Germany, in December 2013. The 29 full papers and 27 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 205 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on service engineering, service operations and management; services in the cloud; and service applications and implementations.
Developing variable systems faces many challenges. Dependencies between interrelated artifacts within a product variant, such as code or diagrams, across product variants and across their revisions quickly lead to inconsistencies during evolution. This work provides a unification of common concepts and operations for variability management, identifies variability-related inconsistencies and presents an approach for view-based consistency preservation of variable systems.
