The Growth and Transformation of Small Firms in India
Based mainly on a survey of 1,212 small firms carried out in 12 states and covering the period 1996-1997. Assesses the performance of small scale industries in relation to economic reforms initiated in 1990-1991. Examines issues relating to the effects of competition on firm behaviour and performance, the government's reservation policy, infrastructural constraints, financing for small firms and the effects of duties and taxes.
