This is a real-life experience that was intended to remind us to show kindness and as an adult to reach out.
It is nearly impossible to over-estimate your value to God. To answer the complaints of the religious leaders of his time, Jesus told a large crowd three stories in quick succession. In each story something of value was lost or out of place. In the first story it was a sheep. In the second it was a silver coin. In the third and most compelling story, what went missing was a son. The words spoken by Jesus revealed God's heart for those misplaced in this life. Though many had been rejected by the religious system of the day the plan of Jesus was to gather the rejected, the outcast, that generation of lost sons and daughters to himself. The central message conveyed in each story told by Jesus t...
Back Cover Summary This book is based on my life experiences and filled with a taste of wisdom needed to overcome some of life's struggles. It is spiritual, inspirational, and very uplifting.
What if God could use you right where you are, doing what you do, with what you already have? Would you want to step into His Story and His Plan? What happens when we offer what we have to the Creator of the Universe? If He is in the business of multiplying, what will He do with you and your offering? The enemy has sold a bill of goods to the world. He has robbed people of hope, of purpose, of passion and of faith. There are believers who live like God is no longer in the business of transforming lives or the world. The reality is that God is waiting for us to slow down and listen, to look around and see what He is doing. He is patiently waiting for us to get beyond ourselves and to step into His amazing, wonderful, life giving, love filled story. It was never in Sherry's plan to write a book, yet when you live your life seeking to be obedient to God's call, you never know where surrendering will take you. For her it has taken her around the world praying and interceding for people and cultures she would have never dreamt of. May her story encourage you, challenge you and free you to take steps into the greatest story, the only worthy story, God's Story.
In this novel, the author tells his life story from childhood to retirement. The reader will follow his path from floating along in life with no obvious purpose until God interrupted. That interruption sent him into a new life-changing adventure and satisfying experience. The minister tells of his inadequacies, temptations, failures, help from prayers by patient church members, and rebukes from unkind Christians. In his later years, he realized God was beside him all along. Throughout his vicissitudes, he came to understand the Divine Potter was patiently and skillfully fashioning his life. It is his hope that laity and clergy will gain insight, inspiration, avoid pit falls, and love spouses and family more. He is fully cognizant that other clergy have similar experiences.
This is my story about how God brought me through the devastating loss of my son to victory over my grief. God allowed me to see many miracles, signs, and wonders, to show me that I did not walk alone. God chose me to proclaim his goodness to the world that it might help someone in their time of need. Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it. (Habakkuk 2:2 KJV)
What role should women play in church ministry? Does scripture allow women to serve? The Whistleblower's Report, author Jessica Linhart offers a look at this very question, emphasizing it’s not our objective to understand the doctrine of man, but to understand God’s doctrine. Linhart addresses controversial topics women face in ministry today, and she includes interviews with twenty-five women from throughout the country. She outlines and presents the hurdles in twenty-five separate “court cases.” Each case presents the interests of both the offenders and the offended. The Whistleblower's Report, Linhart provides a host of Biblical evidence which leads to an in-depth study of the scriptures. Ultimately, she relies on the Holy Spirit to help guide Christians to deciphering the word in order to enter a verdict—guilty or not guilty.
Living In and Passing on the Light The book "Whose I Am and Who I Serve" takes the reader on a journey of one person's life from deliverance to destiny. The author realized that when she fully submitted her free will to Jesus as her Lord and Savior, He not only set her free from the past, but was training her up to share the light of hope with others who were downcast. When looking back upon her life, she saw how all the pieces fit together like a wonderful puzzle. God was surely preparing everything for the time she would answer His call with a profound, "Use Me." With this, there is also opportunity to share her faith with the next generation, that they might follow Christ at a much younge...
Part 1: To never say the words "thrown to the lions" in a humorous, mundane, casual way. Part 2: There are ten chapters designed to motivate individuals to grow in their direct relationship with God. Eight and a half use fictitious names for real-life Christians in modern-day situations. The chapter "Kalifornia Is Burning from Within" is a summary of the local government decisions that have turned their "renewable energy" program into the exact opposite. The chapter "Freedom of Speech, California 2019" is fiction: it uses fictitious names with nonfictitious data and gives details on the history of the magnificent state of Israel and brings to light the darkness of the rising anti-Semitism in the world today.
Do you know someone who repeats everything they hear? What about that friend who honks at drivers who cannot steer? Have you ever run from a blessing because you felt a twinge of fear? Or hid your head in the sand in hopes that your problems disappear? In this whimsical work by Cindy Barnes, we will take a fun look into the lives of nineteen birds and see why some fly, some try, some don't and wonder why, and how the reflection they portray resembles some of our best qualities while others portray some of our greatest challenges! We all share a similar goal--to soar on wings of eagles, to be that Isaiah 40:31 super Christian, that Proverbs 31 super woman, or that Hebrews 11 hero of faith. Won't you spend a couple of hours with me and watch how nineteen feathered friends from "another vantage point" or from a "bird's-eye view" will help teach us how, with just a few changes, we can become that mighty man of Christian strength and valor or that mighty woman of Christian faith and excellence as we admire our reflection from the mirror of God's Holy Word? Come on! Let's go!
