Im Mittelpunkt des Jahrbuchs 2017 des International Tracing Service stehen Kinder und Heranwachsende als Displaced Persons (DPs). Angesichts der aktuellen Migrationsbewegung und der großen Zahl unbegleiteter minderjähriger Flüchtlinge gewinnt die Auseinandersetzung mit den sozialen und politischen Herausforderungen am Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs auch für die Gegenwart neue Relevanz. Die Beiträge dokumentieren eine internationale wissenschaftliche Tagung, die vom 30. Mai bis 1. Juni 2016 im Max Mannheimer Studienzentrum in Dachau stattfand.

Even as Europe struggled to rebuild, new forms of identity, statehood, and citizenship were beginning to take shape.
