Harmonic Analysis and Convexity
In recent years, the interaction between harmonic analysis and convex geometry has increased which has resulted in solutions to several long-standing problems. This collection is based on the topics discussed during the Research Semester on Harmonic Analysis and Convexity at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics in Providence RI in Fall 2022. The volume brings together experts working in related fields to report on the status of major problems in the area including the isomorphic Busemann-Petty and slicing problems for arbitrary measures, extremal problems for Fourier extension and extremal problems for classical singular integrals of martingale type, among others.
Modern Aspects of Random Matrix Theory
The theory of random matrices is an amazingly rich topic in mathematics. Random matrices play a fundamental role in various areas such as statistics, mathematical physics, combinatorics, theoretical computer science, number theory and numerical analysis. This volume is based on lectures delivered at the 2013 AMS Short Course on Random Matrices, held January 6-7, 2013 in San Diego, California. Included are surveys by leading researchers in the field, written in introductory style, aiming to provide the reader a quick and intuitive overview of this fascinating and rapidly developing topic. These surveys contain many major recent developments, such as progress on universality conjectures, connections between random matrices and free probability, numerical algebra, combinatorics and high-dimensional geometry, together with several novel methods and a variety of open questions.
Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, and Related Topics
This collection of contributed articles comprises the scientific program of the fifth annual Prairie Analysis Seminar. All articles represent important current advances in the areas of partial differential equations, harmonic analysis, and Fourier analysis. A range of interrelated topics is presented, with articles concerning Painleve removability, pseudodifferential operators, $A p$ weights, nonlinear Schrodinger equations, singular integrals, the wave equation, the Benjamin-Ono equation, quasi-geostrophic equations, quasiconformal mappings, integral inclusions, Bellman function methods, weighted gradient estimates, Hankel operators, and dynamic optimization problems. Discrete Geometry and Symmetry
This book consists of contributions from experts, presenting a fruitful interplay between different approaches to discrete geometry. Most of the chapters were collected at the conference “Geometry and Symmetry” in Veszprém, Hungary from 29 June to 3 July 2015.
