Collection of philologist, Frederick Henry Wilkens, consists entirely of research material that supported his study of German philology, beginning with his dissertation in 1891 until his death in 1939. Included in the collection are copies of medieval German and Latin books and charters, copies of manuscripts and documents, Wilkens's holographic notes, and copies of the research notes of German philologist, Eduard Sievers, dealing mostly with English literature. Most of the material is written in German, some in Latin, English, and Friesian.
