The Guy S. Meloy Jr. papers consist of official correspondence from Guy S. Meloy Jr. to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (General Lyman Lemnitzer, then General Maxwell D. Taylor) from 2 July 1961 through 8 April 1963. The letters are weekly updates, or "weekly round-up letters," on the activities of the South Korean military government, the Supreme Council for National Reconstruction (SCNR). Special notice is taken of the activities of South Korean military intelligence personnel and other leading personalities.
James Nourse was born in 1731 at Weston-under-Penyard, Herfeordshire, England, and married Sarah Fouace in 1753. They immigrated in 1769 to Hampton, Virginia and settled on a plantation near Charleston, in what is now Berkeley County, Virginia. He died in 1784.
