Minutes of Evidence Taken Before the Select Committee on the Roscommon Election. Case I.
In the general election of 1776 the Roscommon constituency was contested by Messrs Mahon, Crofton and French. French, the defeated candidate, challenged Crofton's election "on the grounds of excessive entertainment and the lack of qualification of some of his voters".
