Grants are available from thousands of sources, both private and public. To the grantseeker, however, this wealth of sources appears like an impenetrable jungle. The Girl Chaser
Jeffrey Sean Angel has fled to the backwoods of Upstate New York from Northern Ireland in search of personal autonomy and freedom from religion. He moves to a remote neighborhood consisting of Jan Bratt, a wise and godly old man; Larry, a teenage boy driven by romantic fantasies but coming to embrace the responsibilities of a man; Chad Hoover, a gangsta rapper wannabe with an extreme entitlement mentality; and a handful of others. Public Sector Decentralization
This paper is addressed to a broad audience of development professionals who are interested in both the substance of decentralisation issues and their impact on economic development. The paper summarises experience with alternative decentralisation arrangements and suggests a new analytical framework for assessing the impact of such arrangements on the performance of economic development programmes and projects. Consideration of alternative forms of decentralisation reveals the need to clarify and establish priorities among economic and political objectives. The potential for conflict among multiple objectives and the need to assess decentralisation policies in terms of acceptable trade-offs among those objectives summarises the importance of this paper.
Perlacher Forest
Mike Conrad is the son of an Army, Airborne Non-Commissioned Officer who obtains his long sought after transfer to Germany, where Mike eventually comes of age. The story begins with Mike, at the age of eight and a half years, adjusting to his new living environment as well as attending public school for the first time in his life. His thoughts and observations of the differences between military and civilian life are expressed and, as Mike ages into a teenager, his involvement with his mother’s maid evolves into the most dangerous and exciting adventure of his life.
