Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Oxidation geeigneter Precursoren als eine neue Methode zur Darstellung intermetallischer Verbindungen. Da diese Methode insbesondere auch bei niedrigen Temperaturen verwendet werden kann, eroffnet sie neue Moglichkeiten zur Praparation intermetallischer Phasen geringer thermischer Stabilitat, einschliesslich solcher mit metastabiler Zusammensetzung. Die Untersuchungen der Arbeit konzentrieren sich auf die Darstellung intermetallischer Clathrate mit Silizium oder Germanium als netzwerkbildende Komponente. Die Fuhrung der Oxidation als Gas-Fest-Reaktion erweist sich dabei von Vorteil. Die durch Oxidation praparierten Clathrate unterscheiden sich in ihrer Zusammensetzung oft deutlich von denen, die mit anderen Praparationsmethoden bisher zuganglich sind. In einigen Fallen konnen mit der Oxidationsmethode breite Zusammensetzungsbereiche bis hin zu metastabilen Allotropen der Elemente Silizium und Germanium erschlossen werden.
