This book includes 12 papers from around the world on topics related to physical separation and enrichment in mineral processing. Physical separation is commonly used in the mineral industry to separate valuable minerals from gangues using differences in their physical properties. Physical separation methods have several advantages over other mineral processing techniques due to their high efficiency, low capital and operating costs, no additional chemicals required, and consequently, lower environmental hazard. They can be applied to the ores from mines or tailinsg, or in the recycling stage for scavenging the desired elements.

The chapters in this volume cover all aspects of the work of Adolf Deissmann (1866–1937). Following his main works, the authors highlight crucial aspects and impulses from his philological work on the New Testament, including the interpretation of Paul, Light from the Ancient East, the social status of the first Christians, and the lexicography of the New Testament. His background in the Lutheran Church of Hessen-Nassau, his contribution to the ecumenical movement together with Nathan Söderblom and through the Evangelische Wochenbriefe during World War II, and his role as rector of the Berlin University in 1930/1931 are also discussed. The contributions illustrate that notwithstanding his...

Living in a World of Neighbours

Living in a World of Neighbours

Migration is stirring up controversy across Europe. Politicians and pundits point to clashes that flare up—or so the story goes—when people of different religious and nonreligious ways of life come together. This book challenges that story. Setting an experimental and explorative agenda, it brings together activist and academic voices affiliated with A World of Neighbours, a multi-faith network that has been engaging with people on the move across Europe. These voices, from a wide variety of contexts and countries, tell a different story. We are already living in a world of neighbours, whether we like it or not. Through practices of living together that cut across religious and nonreligious boundaries, we can change the world we live in.

Computational methods have risen as a powerful technique for exploring the system phenomena and solving real-life problems. Currently, there are two principle computational approaches for system analysis: continuous and discrete. In the continuous approach, the governing equations can be obtained by applying the fundamental laws, such as conservation of mass, momentum, and energy over an infinitesimal control volume. On the other hand, the discrete approach concentrates on mimicking the molecular movement within the system. Both approaches have pros and cons, and continuous development and improvement in the existing computational methods are ongoing. Advanced Computational Techniques for He...

Spirit Flowing Like Water

What if churches focused less on wanting other Christian traditions to become more like theirs, and more on exploring what they might learn from them? Might this not only help churches to deepen faith, mission, and service, but also revitalize the ecumenical landscape with new possibilities? This is the provocative and inspiring vision presented by Receptive Ecumenism, a movement which has crossed denominations and continents, engaging church leaders, ecumenists, scholars, and Christians in their everyday lives. Spirit Flowing Like Water presents the latest conversations in this field. It not only engages leading scholars and practitioners of Receptive Ecumenism between churches but also exp...

Equality in progress

The volume addresses current challenges for gender equality policy and the necessary further development of gender equality policy concepts in order to effectively engage with exclusion mechanisms. The contributions discuss this at the interface between research and policy and on the basis of specific examples.
