Initiationsritus zwischen Taufe und Eucharistie
Spannungen in der Praxis der Firmpastoral und anhaltende Debatten über die theologische Sinnmitte der Firmung prägen seit Jahrzehnten Theologie und kirchliche Praxis. Die vorliegende Studie bietet einen umfassenden liturgiewissenschaftlichen Zugang zum sakramentlichen Ritus der Firmung. Dabei sollen die blinden Flecken in firmtheologischen Konzepten aufgedeckt und eine neue Perspektive von der gottesdienstlichen Feier her eröffnet werden. Dieser Ansatz verspricht nicht nur neue Erkenntnisse zu den Sinndimensionen der Firmriten, sondern auch zum inneren Zueinander der drei Initiationsriten Taufe, Firmung und Eucharistie. Darüber hinaus hält diese Arbeit weiterführende Impulse für eine künftige Theologie sakramentlicher Feiern im Dialog zwischen Liturgiewissenschaft und Dogmatik bereit.
Der liturgische Vollzug als personalliturgischer Erfahrungsraum
Der Autor entwickelt die Einsicht, dass sich in der Liturgie der Glaube als Begegnungsereignis vollzieht. Damit versteht sich die Studie sowohl systematisch als auch anthropologisch (im Rahmen einer personaldialogischen Phänomenologie) verpflichtet. Im Gottesdienst wird der Glaube als Gott-Mensch-Beziehung personal vollzogen. Das führt zur Ekklesiologie, denn Gottes Gegenüber ist die liturgische Gemeinschaft der Kirche. Dieses Geschehen öffnet einen Erfahrungsraum, in dem sich symbolisch die Begegnung Gottes mit seiner Kirche ereignet.
