The earliest known ancestor of the Auzier family was Michael Auxier I (b. 1685) who was born in Auxerre, France. He married Amelia Christopher and they became the parents of three children. In 1749 he traveled with at least two of his children to America. His first son, Christian Auxier (b. 1710), settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and became the father of five children. Michael's other son, Michael Auxier II (1720-1780) married in Martha Jane Hornbeck and settled in Washington County, Virginia where they raised eleven children. Descendants live throughout the United States.
