Iranian and Diasporic Literature in the 21st Century
The most populous Islamic country in the Middle East, Iran is rife with contradictions, in many ways caught between the culture and governments of the Western--more dominant and arguably imperalist--world and the ideology of conservative fundamentalist Islam. This book explores the present-day writings of authors who explore these oppositional forces, often finding a middle course between the often brutal and demonizing rhetoric from both sides. To combat how the West has falsely generalized and stereotyped Iran, and how Iran has falsely generalized and stereotyped the West, Iranian and diasporic writers deconstruct Western caricatures of Iran and Iranian caricatures of the West. In so doing, they provide especially valuable insights into life in Iran today and into life in the West for diasporic Iranians.
Urban Deformation Monitoring using Persistent Scatterer Interferometry and SAR tomography
This book focuses on remote sensing for urban deformation monitoring. In particular, it highlights how deformation monitoring in urban areas can be carried out using Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Tomography (TomoSAR). Several contributions show the capabilities of Interferometric SAR (InSAR) and PSI techniques for urban deformation monitoring. Some of them show the advantages of TomoSAR in un-mixing multiple scatterers for urban mapping and monitoring. Advanced Intelligent Computing Technology and Applications
The 12-volume set CCIS 2564-2575, together with the 28-volume set LNCS/LNAI/LNBI 15842-15869, constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Intelligent Computing, ICIC 2025, held in Ningbo, China, during July 26-29, 2025. The 523 papers presented in these proceedings books were carefully reviewed and selected from 4032 submissions. This year, the conference concentrated mainly on the theories and methodologies as well as the emerging applications of intelligent computing. Its aim was to unify the picture of contemporary intelligent computing techniques as an integral concept that highlights the trends in advanced computational intelligence and bridges theoretical research with applications. Therefore, the theme for this conference was "Advanced Intelligent Computing Technology and Applications".

The Power of Iranian Narratives
This book examines how, through the mediation of past history and current cultural and professional experience, selected Iranian professionals who came to the United States after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, created new identities and possibilities for the future. The stories and experiences of these individuals speak of elements that have contributed to Iranians' view of themselves and their relationship with one another. The study touches upon the conflict between Iranians' national/cultural and religious identities and explains how individuals' understanding of power and capacity to act is interrelated with the sequences, continuity, and preservation of historical events. Furthermore, it describes how, through interpretation and re-interpretation of narratives, individuals and communities can reflect upon their understanding and ownership of power and make changes that reconnect and empower them in the future. The power of narrative is a medium to initiate a long overdue dialogue amongst Iranians that could help heal the history of a thousand years.
