The monsoon over China is one of the major components of the global circulation patterns. A remarkable relationship exists between this part of the monsoon and other world regions. However, in western countries little is yet known about monsoons over China. This monograph provides a systematic and comprehensive description of the major aspects of monsoons over China. The Asian monsoon is one of the most dramatic climatic phenomena on Earth, with far reaching environmental and societal effects.
