The records (1973-2001) consist of subject files concerning the Montana History Conference (1979-2000), Montana History Day (1984-1994), Montana Heritage Project (1995-1998), the Centennial Symposium (1982-1989), and various other subject files (1980-1995) concerning organizations and Society exhibits and programs, including such topics as the Western Valley Heritage Project, the Smithsonian Lecture Series, a Chatuaqua co-sponsored by the Society, the Traveling Historian program, the Montana Homeland exhibit, a museums directory/guide, two AASLH fellowships, the Museums Association of Montana, the Mountain Plains Museums Association, the Lewis and Clark County Cultural Committee, a cultural congress, footlockers, tours, and museum consulting. Also included are miscellaneous Education Program Administrative files (1981-1988). Some files include photographs; publicity shots of Richard Roeder and Harry Fritz were transferred to the Photograph Archives.
This collection consists of correspondence to and from the Photograph Archives, including publishing permissions. MHS 3 (56:7-1)
