Corpora in Applied Linguistics
This volume brings together contributions from the Klagenfurt Conference of Corpus-Based Applied Linguistics (CALK14), in order to extend corpus linguistic research in different areas of applied linguistics. The studies gathered here explore the opportunities that both spoken and written corpora offer for answering questions in different domains of applied linguistics such as second language learning, language testing, comparative linguistics, learner pragmatics and specialised discourses. At the same time, the contributions also give insight into possible limitations and further challenges of corpus-based research in these areas.

The Sustainability Communication Reader
The Textbook seeks for an innovative approach to Sustainability Communication as transdisciplinary area of research. Following the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which are intended to transform the world as it is known, we seek for a multidisciplinary discussion of the role communication plays in realizing these goals. With complementing theoretical approaches and concepts, the book offers various perspectives on communication practices and strategies on an individual, organizational, institutional, as well as public level that contribute, enable (or hinder) sustainable development. Presented case studies show methodological as well as issue specific challenges in sustainability communication. Therefore, the book introduces and promotes innovative methods for this specific area of research.
The Vision Zero Petition
In the aftermath of losing our two youngest daughters, AnnaLeah (17) and Mary (13), due to a truck underride crash on May 4, 2013, we became aware of far too many facts about tra ffic fatalities. In an e ffort to do more than just put a bandaid on the problem, we launched a campaign to call for major change in how safety laws and regulations are determined. Th€is book is a compilation of our request for a National Vision Zero Goal and for a Vision Zero rulemaking policy. It includes our petition letters to President Obama and DOT Secretary Foxx--along with the signatures and comments of thousands of people who signed the petitions and are speaking up with us to call for a move Towards Zero Crash Deaths & Serious Injuries.
