Autobiographical Writings on Mexico
This is the definitive bibliography of autobiographical writings on Mexico. The book incorporates works by Mexicans and foreigners, with authors ranging from disinherited peasants, women, servants and revolutionaries to more famous painters, writers, singers, journalists and politicians. Primary sources of historic and artistic value, the writings listed provide multiple perspectives on Mexico's past and give clues to a national Mexican identity. This work presents 1,850 entries, including autobiographies, memoirs, collections of letters, diaries, oral autobiographies, interviews, and autobiographical novels and essays. Over 1,500 entries list works from native-born Mexicans written between 1691 and 2003. Entries include basic bibliographical data, genre, author's life dates, narrative dates, available translations into English, and annotation. The bibliography is indexed by author, title and subject, and appendices provide a chronological listing of works and a list of selected outstanding autobiographies.

Bajo el signo de taller: El nacimiento literario de Octavio Paz, Efraín Huerta y José Revueltas
El presente estudio se enmarca en la década fundacional que va de 1931 a 1941. El corte histórico se basa en las fechas de aparición de la revista Barandal y de conclusión de Taller, proyectos que sirvieron como punto de arranque, consolidación y ruptura del Grupo Taller. De aquella turba de muchachos con aspiraciones literarias y revolucionarias emergieron las figuras de Octavio Paz, Efraín Huerta y José Revueltas. A la triada debe agregarse una treintena de nombres, como Alberto Quintero, Arnulfo Martínez Lavalle y Savador Toscano, entre otros. Si el acercamiento a tan importantes figuras resulta sugestivo desde cualquier perspectiva, la aproximación a sus priemros años de labor artística y política resulta en sí misma una oporunidad para conocer la gestión de estas voces literarias tan importantes como atractivas, tan radicales como conciliatorias en la tradición litararia nacional.
