Case Reports in General Cardiovascular Medicine: 2022
This Research Topic aims to collect all the Case Reports submitted to the General Cardiovascular Medicine section. All the Case Reports submitted to this collection will be personally assessed by the Specialty Chief Editor before the beginning of the peer-review process. Please make sure your article adheres to the following guidelines before submitting it. Case Reports highlight unique cases of patients that present with an unexpected diagnosis, treatment outcome, or clinical course. Only Case Reports that are original and significantly advance the field will be considered: 1) RARE case with TYPICAL features 2) FREQUENT case with ATYPICAL features 3) Cases with a convincing response to new treatments, i.e. single case of off-label use

Aortic Diseases Involving Visceral Artery: Clinical Therapeutic Management and Related Basic Research
Aortic diseases (mainly including aortic dissection and aneurysm) are common but life-threatening entities. With development of surgical and endovascular techniques, treatment outcomes have been improved gradually. However, a lot of problems still require to be resolved. Aortic diseases in the region of visceral arteries are difficult to treat, especially for aortic dissection, which is usually associated with the narrow true lumen. Conventional open repair is associated with high trauma and high morbidity and mortality. Endovascular intervention has been applied in the last decade. Fenestration technique, chimney technique, and branched stent-grafts have been used for aortic aneurysms. For aortic dissection, management in the region of the visceral arteries is more complicated, and more techniques have been described. Besides these three methods, exclusion of the re-entry by vascular occluder, road block strategy, and candy-plug technique are also reported. However, these endovascular techniques vary in characteristics, procedures, and outcomes. There is no consensus on the optimal treatment for these complicated entities.
Advances in Predicting Future Adverse Coronary Events: The role of cardiovascular imaging and coronary physiology indices
Coronary artery disease remains a principal cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. During the last decade, both non-invasive and invasive imaging techniques, as well as assessment of coronary physiology and hemodynamics have provided significant prognostic information and improved the identification of high-risk patients and coronary lesions. The goal of this special edition Research Topic is to shed light on the progress made in the prediction of adverse coronary events, and on its future challenges to provide a thorough overview of the field. This article collection will inspire, inform and provide direction and guidance to researchers and clinicians in the field.
Early Jewish Settlement Patterns in Palestine, 1882-1914
Jewish settlement patterns in Palestine are of interest because of their co-operative forms, the Kibbutz and the Moshav. However, the Jews preferred a different type of pioneer settlement: the Moshavah. For over 30 years the early settlers chose the Moshavah as the type of settlement most suited to lead them to their basic goal: creating a Jewish village, and structuring a 'new' Jew -- a farmer who would live on his land and so lay the cornerstone of a renewed 'national home'. The cultural landscape of the Moshavah, its planning its design and development, constitute the subject of this book, which studies the ideological aspirations of Jewish pioneers in Palestine and illustrates the link between ideology and landscape in their settlement patterns.
