This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of UNISCON 2008 held in Klagenfurt, Austria, during April 22-25, 2008. UNISCON combines the ECOMO workshop series and the ISTA conference series. The 19 papers dealing with conceptual modeling, model-driven software development and information systems applications represent a 30% selection from the original set of submissions. They are completed by two keynote lectures and 35 papers from internationally renowned researchers, invited in honor of Heinrich C. Mayr, whose 60th birthday is also celebrated at this event, that he originally created.
The Practice of Enterprise Modeling
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 16th IFIP Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling, PoEM 2023, which took place in Vienna, Austria, during November 28 - December 1, 2023. PoEM offers a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge between the academic community and practitioners from industry and the public sector. This year the theme of the conference is Enterprise Modeling in the Circular Economy. The 12 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 34 submissions. They were organized in topical sections named as follows: Enterprise modeling and artificial intelligence; emerging architectures and digital transformation; modeling tools and approaches; and enterprise modeling at work.
TraceME: A Traceability-Based Method for Conceptual Model Evolution
This book presents TraceME, a traceability-based method for conceptual model evolution whose general purpose is to support the evolution of information systems. By providing a set of four TraceME chunks, TraceME is situational-oriented. In this way, it can be adapted to support different evolution projects by just assembling the TraceME chunks. To facilitate its industrial adoption, open source tools were developed and described which support the implementation of the TraceME chunks. The work presented highlights various research endeavors for the development of methods and techniques to automate the evolution of software systems. It explores the requirements engineering field as a steppingstone to a successful software development processes. In 2017, the underlying PhD dissertation won the “CAiSE PhD award”, granted to outstanding PhD theses in the field of Information Systems Engineering.
Human Work Interaction Design: Designing for Human Work
This book records the very first Working Conference of the newly established IFIP Working Group on Human-Work Interaction Design, which was hosted by the University of Madeira in 2006. The theme of the conference was on synthesizing work analysis and design sketching, with a particular focus on how to read design sketches within different approaches to analysis and design of human-work interaction. Authors were encouraged to submit papers about design sketches - for interfaces, for organizations of work etc. - that they themselves had worked on. The 37 revised full papers presented together with two keynote talks, two panel session papers, six industrial papers, and five demo/posters papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 158 submissions.
Artificial General Intelligence
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Artificial General Intelligence, AGI 2011, held in Mountain View, CA, USA, in August 2011. The 28 revised full papers and 26 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 103 submissions. The papers are written by leading academic and industry researchers involved in scientific and engineering work and focus on the creation of AI systems possessing general intelligence at the human level and beyond.
