Sports Promotion In India
Recognising the role of coaching in the promotion of sports in the country a small beginning was made during 1953. Later it has got momentum and taken the shape of National Coaching Scheme. Since, then the scheme was functioning under the sports Authority of India (SAI). It is aimed to promote various sports disciplines, talent scouting, expert coaching, identify and develop excellency among youth and to co-ordinate sports activities among different institutions.
