IMAGES deals with the discourse of cultural encounters within the context of social co-existence. Within this scope, the project deals with both verbal and non-verbal communication and focuses on the thematic fields of cultural encounter, poverty, and migration. This volume thus offers readers a cross-section of current research both on the perception of urbanity and on contemporary and historical representations of the city, coming from a variety of fields in people's daily lives. Jedermann spielt
Evangelische Laienspielgruppen führten in den 1920er Jahren nicht nur Krippenspiele auf, sondern auch Theaterstücke wie Hugo von Hofmannsthals Jedermann. Zunehmend wurden – inspiriert von der Jugendbewegung – Texte speziell für die Laienspielszene in verschiedenen Spielreihen veröffentlicht, die eine thematische Vielfalt entwickelten. Im 'Dritten Reich' existierte das evangelische Laienspiel weiter, wenn auch mit starken Einschränkungen. In der Nachkriegszeit wurden in den Stücken neben biblischen Motiven auch Kriegserlebnisse und die Schuldfrage thematisiert und es wurde so jedermanns Welt auf die Bühne getragen. In der Untersuchung werden u.a. die Münchener Laienspiele und die Christlichen Gemeindespiele fokussiert, aber auch Stücke von Ernst Lange oder auch Das Spiel von der Weißen Rose bis hin zu den sogenannten Anspielen. Als prägende Persönlichkeiten treten u.a. Rudolf Mirbt, Otto Salomon, Aurel von Jüchen und Ulrich Kabitz auf. Korrespondenzen des Verlegers Albert Lempp und Zeitzeugenberichte beleuchten die Entwicklungen.
