Stability Analysis and Evaluation of Integrated Wind Farm with Conventional Synchronous Generator
In this work the stability analysis and evaluation of integrated wind farm with conventional synchronous generator is discussed for all time scale of operation of the power grid including short term, mid-term and long term normal and contingency scenarios.The primary objective of this research proposed is to quantify the performance between a conventional synchronous generator and an integrated wind farm in various modes of operations of voltage stability. To determinate the voltage stability in the system it is necessary to define and create different scenario where the short-term, mid¬term, and finally long term stability are implied in the power system. To accomplish this, two standard power systems is used for evaluations. The results indicate that the effect of wind generator on the power system voltage stability mainly depends on a) the capacity b) external reactive power capability of the system c) the generator controllers and d) the system topology. This work establishes a holistic approach on voltage stability analysis of wind integrated power grid that has not been attempted before.
