Livet er en risikabel affære. Vi dør af at leve, og vi må endda erkende, at vores risikosamfund skaber den ene livsfare efter den anden på en planet truet af undergang. Denne evige usikkerhed risikerer at lamme os så meget, at vi helt mister modet til at prøve os selv af. Men ifølge Antoinette Fage-Butler, veltalende vovehals på Aarhus Universitet, kan vi lige så godt se i øjnene, at risiko udgør en uundgåelig del af tilværelsen. Til gengæld kan vi ved at udfordre skæbnen i ny og næ også finde et potentiale for forandring, som vi næppe tør risikere at leve foruden.
