Rohingya Refugee Crisis in Myanmar
This book discusses the current reality and the future of ethnic Rohingyas in Myanmar. It presents Myanmar’s history, policy, politics and, most importantly, while focusing on Rohingya ethnic conflict, presents a resolution by looking at the global and regional policies and politics of South Asia and South-East Asia. The recent coup unfolded in Myanmar and the detention of the democratic leaders has surprised the world with its subsequent emergency declaration in 2021, thus making this book relevant and well-timed. The Sociology of Shari’a
This edited collection focuses on the comparative analysis of the application of Shari’a in countries with Muslim minorities (e.g. USA, Australia, Germany and Italy) and majorities (e.g. Malaysia, Bangladesh, Turkey, and Morocco). Most chapters in this new edition have been revised and the book as a whole has been updated to give even more international coverage. This text provides a sociological and global analysis of a phenomenon that goes beyond the ‘West versus the rest’ dichotomy. One example of this is how included are case studies in Muslim minority countries not exclusively located in the West. Although the contributors of this book come from various disciplines such as law, anthropology, and sociology, this volume has a strong sociological focus on the analysis of Shari’a. The final part of the book indeed draws out from all the case studies explored some ground-breaking theories on the sociology of Shari’a such as the application of Black, Chambliss and Eisenstein’s sociological theories. This text appeals to students and researchers working in the sociology of religion.
God's Universal Foundation
As for the universe, some scientists compare it today to a curved sheet or plate. They say the universe has a specific density in the distribution of matter through it. This density makes it more like a slightly curved sheet, which means being flat. Then this universe, at the end of its life, will fold itself as it folds this paper. It will close and return as it began. They call it the theory of the recurring universe, which means that it starts from one point, then expands, then returns and shrinks on itself and returns as it began. Then why do we believe in this speech? Because God almighty says, "The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it." Those who believe in this theory use the word repeat, the same Koranic word used by scholars to express the end of the universe and the re-creation.
