Cette thèse reflète la confrontation, à la fois théorique et pratique, d'une artiste avec un passé violent, celui de l'Iran entre 1979 et 1988. À partir des effets qu'a produit la violence étatique au sein des différents groupes sociaux mais également dans l'espace, un certain nombre de questions ont été progressivement examinées tout au long de cette thèse. Celle de la trace, de la mémoire collective, de la temporalité et plus spécifiquement celle de la représentation face au paradoxe fondamental qu'a constitué pour moi, en tant qu'artiste, l'existence d'images photographiques de phénomènes spectraux dont il ne peut, par nature, exister d'image.
