The Banking Risk of AI Explanation
Artificial Intelligence brings significant benefits to banking, but also introduces novel risks, such as the requirement that decisions made by complex machine learning systems and deep neural networks be adequately explained to humans. This work offers a multifaceted view of the topic, harmonizing the legal frameworks of Data Protection and Artificial Intelligence, the background of systems engineers, academic contributions from the computing community, and banking risk management under Basel III and the DORA Regulation, suggesting the idea of the Five Beacons as a structural model for explanation to strengthen the protection of financial customers (and every citizen, at large) against the machine. La Guerrillera
Una voluble jovencita de la alta burguesía nicaragüense toma una decisión poco meditada y se enrola en el movimiento revolucionario FSLN. Una decisión equivocada y una acción desafortunada marcarán la vida de una niña «pija» que al tiempo que la condicionara toda su vida y la hará madurar. Este lastre emocional solo aflorará cuando un ocasional compañero de golf la incentiva para que saque a la luz ese trauma que la consume, para así liberar su alma. Y como de una niña mimada y consentida se convirtió en una guerrillera que se desligó de su confortable vida para convertirse en una accidental asesina. Desencantada de la trayectoria del sandinismo se exilió en Costa Rica donde volvió a encontrar sus raíces y a su exiliado padre que se había convertido en un próspero propietario de un cafetal. Rehízo su vida y se dedicó a obras benéficas y a disfrutar de su, otra vez, privilegiada posición.
El Espía Que Sí Fui
SINOPSIS Un ingeniero español, director general de una importante fábrica de cemento en Pakistán, es chantajeado, tras una hábil operación de engaño, por el RAW, el servicio secreto indio, brazo ejecutor en el extranjero del CBI (la oficina central de investigación) a espiar a su favor. Se trata de conocer cuales son las intenciones de su archienemigo Pakistán con la adquisición del avión furtivo Lockheed SR-71 al que denominan Blackbird, un avión que vuela a una velocidad Mach 3 y podría transportar un artefacto atómico. Lo que descubre le aterroriza y le lleva a colaborar de buena fe, pone todo su empeño es desbaratar esa terrible acción que pretenden llevar a cabo los pakistanís. Con la inestimable ayuda de la joven esposa del Mariscal del Aire pakistaní, comandante en Jefe de la más importante base aérea del país islámico, consiguen desmantelar la operación. De llevarse a cabo la operación el mundo hubiese sido puesto al borde de la destrucción.
